Comfort Doll Project closing
Dear friends and Comfort Doll Project supporters, I am saddened to announce that after over 2 years I am forced to close the Comfort Doll Project. As we all know, life can become very hectic and time is very valuable. I have found myself being devoured by life's happening and must conclude this venture. Although I have enjoyed spending time on this project and getting your beautiful handmade dolls to various shelters, it has become quite difficult with life changes and arising family issues, and I must put my family first as I would expect from anyone.
I wanted to take this time to thank all of you for your time, talent, sponsorship, beautiful creations, but mainly for your generous giving hearts. You made a difference and warmed many hearts of women out there whom we shall never meet as well as mine. Seeing the dolls arrive has been such a heartwarming experience that I will always remember. Each note written was much appreciated too.
When possible I will continue to make and send dolls to shelters and I hope you do the same. We can all be proud and happy to know that close to 900 women have received dolls from us. Almost 1000 in just over two years. That is amazing, and without you, it would not have been possible.
For those who have dolls made and ready to send, please locate your nearby shelter and ask if they would like them. If anyone wants to take over the project, email me at angell100@comcast.net and I will be happy to send you the shelter contact sheet and copy of the comfort cards I pin to each doll as well as the list of states and shelters that have already received dolls.
Again, this is not something I am giving up easily, but I can feel content in knowing the smiles and lives we have touched. Thank you all and many blessings.
Happy Holidays!

My heart was warmed once again by Comfort Doll angels..thank you all for what you do.
Letter from Patti:
I am sure you are familiar with Etsy and wanted you to know that recently our local Etsy Team did a window display downtown Coos Bay. We added a basket of Comfort Dolls made by Brenda Salzano and myself to display in the window with a brief description of what a Comfort Doll is and how anyone can participate. I added your Comfort Doll Banner with a link to the site and mine and Brenda's phone number along with your address to mail the dolls to .

Directions to create an easy lavender filled doll
For those in need of directions for an easy Comfort Doll which you can fill with dried lavender or fiberfill, I would like to share mine with you which I call "Inner Child Dolls". This idea was taken from a beautiful doll idea by Sandy of ART-TEA-Life, a super creative talent who enjoys sharing. I looked at her sweet dolls and tried my hand at my own version which make great Comfort Dolls. You can see more of my dolls here.
Enjoy!

A little update
Hi everyone. As you probably have noticed, I have fallen behind in the mailings of the Comfort Doll project. Not to worry, I'm awake now .....
and got caught up and will be mailing out 7 dozen this week. Two dozen went out last week. We are up to 70 dozen, can you believe it?
I wanted you to know that the address I had on this blog is a valid one. It was removed for security reasons and if you need to send dolls to me, just email for the address and I will get it to you.
If you have a dozen or more dolls you want to send to a specific place, I will mail you comfort doll cards for each doll and the letter I send with each shipment then you can send them directly to the shelter. This will save on double postage . Thank you for your cooperation.
I will be posting new doll arrivals this week. I just wanted you to know the project is still going strong and I'm sure it will continue to bring joy to many women.

An inspiring venture in OZ
You must check this out . A group in Australia gathered together for a day of making comfort dolls for local young women in crisis. So many turned out to create beautiful dolls and had a wonderful time doing so. I wish I had been a fly on the wall. Great job everyone. Your dolls are fantastic and it was wonderful to read about your venture. My pal and generous Comfort Doll donor, Judith McCarthy gave me a heads up on your project. Thanks Judy.
Reading this just made my day.
