Comfort Doll Project closing

Dear friends and Comfort Doll Project supporters, I am saddened to announce that after over 2 years I am forced to close the Comfort Doll Project. As we all know, life can become very hectic and time is very valuable. I have found myself being devoured by life's happening and must conclude this venture. Although I have enjoyed spending time on this project and getting your beautiful handmade dolls to various shelters, it has become quite difficult with life changes and arising family issues, and I must put my family first as I would expect from anyone.

I wanted to take this time to thank all of you for your time, talent, sponsorship, beautiful creations, but mainly for your generous giving hearts. You made a difference and warmed many hearts of women out there whom we shall never meet as well as mine. Seeing the dolls arrive has been such a heartwarming experience that I will always remember. Each note written was much appreciated too.

When possible I will continue to make and send dolls to shelters and I hope you do the same. We can all be proud and happy to know that close to 900 women have received dolls from us. Almost 1000 in just over two years. That is amazing, and without you, it would not have been possible.

For those who have dolls made and ready to send, please locate your nearby shelter and ask if they would like them. If anyone wants to take over the project, email me at angell100@comcast.net and I will be happy to send you the shelter contact sheet and copy of the comfort cards I pin to each doll as well as the list of states and shelters that have already received dolls.

Again, this is not something I am giving up easily, but I can feel content in knowing the smiles and lives we have touched. Thank you all and many blessings.

Happy Holidays!

Dearest Pat,
You did such an amazing job at keeping this going for so long.
I commend you for all your hard work and time spent on this amazing project!
I also think it is outstanding to be put family first ~ a good lesson for us all.
I will admit I havent thought about my own local shelter lately ~ and I now feel challenged to do so.
Lots of Love,
Terri

Dearest Pat: Thank you for allowing the rest of us to participate in this wonderful project you so generously gave your time and talents to for others not so fortunate. You can be extremely proud of all that you have done. I shall continue my giving as I know you and many others will do also. Bless you truly.

Oh Pat, the lives you have touched! I've only watched this project from afar...thinking...I'm going to make some...someday... but like you my family and life came first. I'm glad you are taking time for that. It's right. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you have done. I've never been in an abusive situation, but my heart has always been very sensitive to it and to these women. There will be a time, I hope soon...that I will make dolls and send on to a nearby shelter. You have inspired many! Thank you again.

Thank you Ladies. It has been my pleasure working with you to brighten the lives of women in a tough time. All dolls have found homes and will reach their shelters in time for the Holiday.
Thank you all!!!!!

Thank you so much for facilitating for so many women who just needed a touch of love. I do regret that I wasn't more active with this, I contributed once, but I enjoyed seeing the wonderful little dollies that everyone else made. It was a healing of sorts for me to make a doll for somebody else, so I thank you for that oportunity too! God Bless you and keep you in all that you do.

I have had a few on the back burner because of life getting in the way, but will finish them and find a shelter who will want them for their ladies. I was once abused so know that this venture was a blessing for many! See what you've done, you've not only touched many hurting ladies, but have brought this need to all of us who will continue to make them and send them out!!! You are a sweet spirit my dear!!!
Blessings for a wonderful New Year!!!

I know your project and wonderful website has inspired many of us toward compassion and kindness. That kind of good work goes on and on, long after a website closes. Good luck to you Pat and God Bless.
