36th dozen dolls sent to Alaska

What a difference a day makes. A couple days ago I was sending out the 33rd,34th,and 35th dozen dolls and on Monday I will ship out dozen #36 thanks to the generous donation of one dozen dolls from Judith McCarthy of AU. Another dozen to be received before Christmas to warm the hearts of many women who could use an extra comfort this time of year.
This group will be sent to the Kodiak Woman's Resource and Crisis Center in Kodiak Alaska on Monday.

Thank you Judith, and all of you donors for supporting this project. I wish I could thank each of you in person. You sure make the world a brighter place. Happy Holidays and blessings to each of you.

Hi Pat thank you for visiting my blog and for the beautiful card and gift. I do hope to make some dolls for you in the New Year. I will add them to my list. Christmas is such a high stress time. Here in the UK a lot of women go into shelters at this time.

Merry Christmas,
Melanie

Thank you for signing my website guest book Pat! Yes I love the hunt! Happy New Year to you too! More Comfort Dolls are in the works.

BTW, Kodiak Woman's Resource and Crisis Center in Kodiak Alaska is a wonderful group. We were stationed in Kodiak for 3 awesome years before DH retired from the Coast Guard. KANA has the best resources.

Hi Pat
I thought I must come over immediately following Kay Susans' wonderful words in her blog today (she flagged me too!).
-What an amazing project your Comfort Doll Project sounds. I have never heard of anything quite like this before, and have really had my eyes opened to the comfort and love those who suffer the terrible effects of domestic abuse could gain through one of these dolls - what an amazing idea.
I know that that Betsan http://www.stitchlinks.com/ from Stitchlinks will be amazed at your story too. - She is studying the link between stitiching and the reduction in pain, along of course with the therapy that can be derived from being absorbed in stitiching - do take a look at her page, it is fascinating.
I shall make sure I return again from time to time to keep up to date with the Comfort Doll Project.
All best
Molly
